Lastly, if you're in a condo, there are a lot of unknown as far as neighbors in very close proximity ,and you don't know their screening.. granted this isn't specific to condos, but it's just the proximity of neighbors and such... we have a rule about avoiding apartment complexes for this reason!

Although I feel the residential single family homes are a bit more 'protected' now than they were in 2008 due to more Fannie Mae backed loans and lender regulations, I get the feeling that commercial complexes (multi unit apartments in particular) have been built at an astounding rate for the past 7 years.
