Rent might not actually save you on self-employment taxes anyway since renting to your own business can be considered nonpassive...unlike renting your home, which is definitely NOT subject to self-employment tax.

That said, she has never tried to stop me from doing it, she just has never expressed any interest and generally tries to avoid any conversations dealing with the subject.  

I know accountants/attorneys are great resources, but want to get familiar with the subject myself first to ask right questions.Thanks
