The mold roots itself into the drywall (or wood) so your best best is to remove the drywall, eliminate the water source (if any) for the mold growth, and patch the section in.

Might need a second coat of poly on the next day depending on the temp and humidity.I think it would be best to change it up and use a different wood in each bathroom or use different stains to change up the look and give a bit more flash
