I was shocked to see what property values are there considering that LA and San Diego are not too far away.

Hello there, I'm interested in a property in San Antonio and looking to have it inspected.

Currently I'm stationed in San Diego but will be relocating to Indiana after separating from the military at the end of the year.

In San Fransisco the rental market is so high and inventory so low that many unpermitted "illegal" rentals exist with the city's taking a blind eye approach for the most part, there are too many to enforce.As for rectification, that depends upon ability to access areas required and what was done, if you have an unpermitted HVAC unit located too close to the building, it will need to be moved, plumbing may have to be uncovered even if under a slab, I have seen it go from easy to seemingly impossible.

Add in the appreciation over the 10 years when applied with leverage and you get insane return on San Francisco RE (or San Diego, LA, OC RE).Cash flow is one component of the overall return. 

I know of groups in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso

Or is this simply the name of the game in a market like San Diego?

It’s a highly desirable area in mid Peninsula San Francisco, but the highest is 25% larger than A typical house in the neighborhood.

I don't know as many people as I used too, but I do know a few people that might be able to help you if you're really interested.I wouldn't with about the distance, because I know that Texas State runs party buses to Austin and San Antonio so I know that you're not too far out of the way.
