Looking for anyone who has any experience with getting a new modular home to put on land I already own.How does financing differ and who did you go through in the Western NC area specifically. 

I hear so many different things about this area but mostly negative.

You should be getting an annual escrow review showing new tax and insurance charges and how that affects your payments, usually you can either send the difference as one payment or they raise your monthly payments to cover it.

We assume we need to find an agent that lives in the area we are looking for, but can the same agent help us look in other areas or do we need to find a different agent for that area?

I never felt that the claim against either of us was a valid one, but my opinion didn't make any difference: Someone was suing us for damage and seeking a significant amount of money, and both we and our homeowner client had to cooperate fully with the insurance company.The insurance company zeroed in on the condition of the stairs and railings.

There are evidently a ton of investors that must have very different criteria for returns and underwriting!
