I just finished reading Dirt Rich and it's peaked my interest in the possibilities of land investment. 

I financed this deal through a private lender, allowing me flexibility and faster access to funds compared to traditional financing.

My understanding is if you live in the residence yourself for a year and a day, you can get a traditional mortgage as it’s not considered an investment.
