I would classify my neighborhood as blue collar, lower working class. 

From what they tell me, it's necessary unless you want blue collar work.

If you plan on living here long, you may want to consider better materials, based on how close you live to the ocean.  

Other than ocean front/view, lake front/view, & ski in/out I would say a pool is the most valuable amenity you can have.
