We are just beginning our real estate investment journey but since I have family and friends in Colombia we want to contemplate investing there.

I have contemplated renting them to tenants but then I’m on the hook for repairs and I wanted out of that business. 

Contemplating a 5 unit there. 3 2br and 2 1br. 


Hello Everyone,I am contemplating between 2 strategies right now for $100,000 cash I have to invest.

If the option is taken, he agrees to finance it to you, seller financed.That note will be an asset to him if he needs to qualify, two routes:One, make the note so that it is not marketable as the asset is assessed to it's market value, or;Two, set the note up to be purchased later on at a discount if he needs to qualify, the note is sold and all funds then go to his care until expensed.......this is the better alternative.If you just bought it, there will be a 3 to 7 year contemplation rule as to his disposal of assets and he may be obligated  to use the sale proceeds for his care, which he won't have, say in year 7.

My partner and I are contemplating the idea of offering small, short term loan opportunities to investors in our network e.g. family, friends, colleagues to help build trust and a track record.

Only difference is I live about an hour away form Philly and contemplating a trip to visit.

Just not under what Boyd is currently contemplating.

I have contemplated buying another unit in Brazil instead of considering the US due to its uncertain economy.
