We are currently building a home in North Port and it will be built by the second quarter of next year.

Here is my situation- I am pulling equity from my home just outside of Vancouver BC for a downpayment on either a presale condo or a resale townhome.The Condo is located in Port Moody and will be a 1 bedroom for 530k and rented for about 1900-2000 when it comes to market in 2 years.

In which case from the research I've done (which isn't as much as I need to do to invest) would probably be in Ontario or Saskatchewan, although I'll be living in BC when I move back.Which get's me to thinking, if I'm gonna be so far away from the property to begin with, and I'm not going to potentially even be living anywhere near my property when I move back, it doesn't really matter where I live in relation to where I buy.If I were to look in the US, my first port of call would be Detroit, purely because I have a couple of friends who own there already.
