I am currently in the military, stationed in Germany, but will be back home in lakewood (right at the base of Green Mountain) in one year.

I know @Garry C. does vacation rentals in the mountains so he might be able to put you in touch with someone that does it down in town.

When your why is powerful enough, we can move mountains.  

It's in the mountains about 100 km inland from Nha Trang and I've been coming here for 2 years.

Good beer, legal weed, 300 days of sun and proximity to the mountains. 

And if at all possible escaping to the Mountains to take a quick breather with the family.Cheers,Darin

I stay in NC for all of the reasons that you mentioned in your post:  the weather is nice (though it snowed yesterday), cost of living is low, property taxes are low, employment is strong, education is strong, the beaches and mountains are both within a few hours drive (but no good snow skiing).  

I wanted to be close to nightlife, easy access to the mountains, and I liked the urban setting.
