The answer depends upon whether the judgment attached to the property... which as @Wayne Brooks pointed out can depend on local law as well as how a property is titled.Also, liens are often paid at closing from the proceeds... not beforehand.

Hi @Josh Dehmlow,As has been previously mentioned, you do not necessarily need someone based in Missouri because your tax planning will largely revolve around federal tax laws. 

That could be construed as indirectly discriminating against certain protected classes under fair housing laws.
