Maybe it means going to school to learn some trade or new skills.  

I'm confident I have a solid set of skills and strengths to bring to this arena, but I have plenty to learn and I don't yet know what my next steps should be.

The seller's customer service skills are irrelevant of the buy, however they could be signs of bad things or a good customer service guy just makes the process easier.One reason turnkey promoters exist...the ones who don't sell the properties themselves but connect you with the providers, is they can act as a 'customer service buffer'.

I griped at the time but in retrospect I was paid fairly and taught a valuable skill at the same time.  

What would be the best entry level position that would build the skills and network I need? 

I do have skill and knowledge to fix up properties to sell or rent.
