So all in, including some priority repairs we'd want to do aside from the basement, we're looking at about $750k on this house. 

It's pretty exciting and we're still in early innings.Happy to discuss the market there and share some resources about the progress, my own portfolio's performance, etc.

Both houses are new construction that was completed a couple of weeks ago.

House hacking has been my approach here, otherwise the numbers don't really work.

I’m have my first house built in Portsmouth VA and will be renting out two of rooms in a 3 bed 3.5 bath townhome.

The home is spacious enough to house 11 young college students; at a local growing private college. 

However, I don't have enough money for the land, and getting financing for land is much harder than for a house.I have an inside connection to the owner, who is open to selling a 1-bedroom wood frame house on the lot next to the land for $60,000.
