It's a century-old house and there are some complications in the layout (e.g., the easiest solution would involve cutting into a really beautiful old backsplash behind the the kitchen sink) and the fact that everything is otherwise done (i.e., we don't have open walls).

Although, I haven't heard of lenders turning down a loan because of a property's layout.

@Mike Campbell  I would rework that layout.

This can lead to some strange features such as different floor levels, varying ceiling heights, and strange layout choices.

Reason being it will save them several thousand dollars to not have to go through redesigning storm sewer, building footprints, site layout, lot line adjustments ect.

In most cases, I've just found layouts work better and kitchen scale is more correct without them when dealing with limited space.More power to you whatever you end up doing, but just giving you some learnings from the trenches.

This is basically exactly what you have so I'd just leave the layout more or less as you have it.
