I'd say find a market that's not going to break the bank and has strong rentership.

From the little bit I know from reading about start-ups, it is very tough to break into that ring without some help or knowing people in the industry.

If I am required to get workers comp insurance to protect myself in case he trips over his own feet and breaks his neck while fixing a doorknob, I would pay the handyman $100, and pay State Fund for workers comp insurance $3,450. 

It is a 400k house (not sure land value yet) but I’m wondering if I can depreciate this into a loss and get a tax break on my personal taxes?
