I knew that if I was to put the money my parents put aside for my to work that when I got out I would be able to build my dream home with the growing Equity that i forced back in to the house.

The problem is finding the people who not only need the money, but know what to do with it and can present you with a good deal to invest in and you have to know the business good enough to know it really is a good deal and the numbers aren't pipe dreams

I now live in my dream town and all this was kicked off by joining a mastermind group.I am now part of a general one.  

But like you mentioned being your own GC is the dream scenario!

That being said, I had a descent, not great, rental portfolio bringing in income when I made the leap to pursue my real estate dreams.
