How can I become a hard money lender or equity partner?

If someone wants to partner with someone else who is active in real estate investing or wants to scale their current business but need a funding source, what platforms etc. can they best connect on?

Hi @Bryan Devitt - thanks for the response and totally agree, I am very aware that I need to be cautious of "getting burned" and frankly that's exactly why I am trying to ask the questions because I want to see if there are any platforms that provide for a transparent and safe way to find people... 

I like your idea about local meetups and I'll certainly pursue that next as well.
