Hey all,I run affordable housing for homeless Veterans and their families in King County - I love what I do and love developing and running apartment complexes for the organization I work for, but now I want to develop my own portfolio as well. 

The property is a one bedroom w/ no view, and it definitely doesn’t look like the pics as the broken floor tile, missing grout etc do not get photographed.  

By the time I leave the Navy I will have more then 6 months worth of income saved up since that's one of the most common pieces of advice I have seen throughout these threads.I was curious if anyone knew of a Veteran program that would cover the costs of getting licensed or covering the exam fee?  

Looking for a experienced veteran in multifamily syndication who could teach me the ropes...I am in New York City and will be willing to meet up where and whenever.Time not being a issue, which is my plate to the table.

Maybe I'm also partial because he is a combat veteran like myself. :-)

I'm not some kind of war-weathered veteran expert, I have a vacancy now that's really annoying me and I'm trying to figure out how to get a good tenant in there, but I'm very positive about the area and its potential.

Also look at Faira.com and do everything that a broker would do like professional photographs, great description, open houses, printed materials, signage, etc, and I think you have a huge leg up and getting your home sold.

My father is a Vietnam Veteran and I am very proud of that, my mother is from Eltville am Rhein Germany, a place anyone MUST visit when traveling to the Rheingau Taunus Kreis in Germany.  

My first advice would be to get a veteran investor to walk through it with you (or a GC).

I am a separating veteran, and I plan to move to the DFW area in the next six months or so, and want to begin my REI career when I get there.
