To your point - it is actually sad the government can't set up an efficient system so we real estate investors who want to help under-served areas (i.e, Chicago) could do it easier. 

As long as proper notice was served there should be no issue. 

As many here have said, you are best served to hit the ground running now with your VA loan and house hack a 2-4 unit to get the ball rolling.

This deal was sourced through New Western Acquisitions and was sold on a first come first serve basis.

General Contractor here we work with other investors on projects depending on size we are currently booked up most likely to the end of this year with a 70unit complex we are working on but do a lot of residential as well.

Assuming there is no foundational issues would you advise a beginner to stay away from a repair of this size, or go for it?
