Hi BP,My wife and I are new investors looking to build a portfolio of buy and hold single and multi family rentals. 

As for the multi-unit that you're currently in contract on, how many units is it and would you and your fiance be living in one of them?

So me and my wife own a home and we were thinking about renting it out and house hacking a multi family property here in Southern California.

I may stick with single multi family projects on crowdfunding.

@Fernando EnrileMaybe look into buying a multi-family property (1-4 units) and that way you can use the rental income to help yourself qualify - the multi would need to be owner occupied (house hacking).

Hey BP question:What are good sites/locations/strategies for finding the perfect tenants on a multi?

My goal in the future is multi-family, but currently my husband is not completely on board (he hasn't said that, but I can tell he's less than enthused with my REI aspirations--he's skeptical). 

I know the market is hot right now so I'm prepared to spend time finding the right deal - my family has a townhouse in Chanhassen that I'm planning on living while I search for a multi family.
