I enjoy dealing with people, have a desire to succeed, have confidence in myself to getting things done even if it means thinking outside of the box.

I have been taught that real estate investment is a business or entrepreneurial endeavor, so I believe an MBA would be good as it would teach business and business relationships.

That should still net them an additional $1,500/month in income.As a son who wants to take the burden off of the parents so their retirement can be more enjoyable, consider helping them with handling the tenants by answering the phone calls and booking for repairs, etc...Personally, I don't like either options you proposed for a retired couple.

Hey Everyone,It's been awhile since I've been on but always enjoy the discussion I have on here.

I'm a little over whelmed, but enjoying the learning process.  

I have recently attended the Fortune Builders 3 day seminar, and enjoyed the information but was not hard pressed to spend 20 -50 k.  

If you end up getting this house, you will have an insurance on your end to cover up if anything was to happen in next 5 years.If there is further damage because of all this snow that we are getting right now, insurance is suppose to take care of it ... before you buy it ... yeah you may end up loosing $900 (and it sucks), but that may be better than getting a house that is falling apart ... unless of course you can renegotiate the price again with the seller :)I know right now you are probably very nervous about it ... just try to enjoy the ride ;) ... don't worryvsomething will work out ... there is not lost money, there are only good lessons.
