With the recent election, one council member is somewhat opposed to STR (or more strict regulation) whereas a few of the others (as well as the new Mayor) seem to support STR and trying to find a path forward to support STRs and affordable housing.

But make yourself, your health, your mental health a priority every day and it will be huge! 

I have interviewed a couple of services, but I am not having any luck finding a reliable and affordable company.  

Our household income is about $13k monthly after taxes and payroll deductions (health insurance, 401(k), etc.)My wife and I have never been particularly fiscally responsible, although we live a fairly simple life.

So, look for a 4-plex you can afford, or wait until you have the cash because even if you wait you will be far ahead.Before you invest in a single-family or multi-unit send a PM and I will do the math for you.
