But eventually they get washed out.Personally I wouldn't and don't buy any STRs in hoa areas for the basic reason that they can change the rules on you at any point without warning.

If your goal (like many BPers) is to eventually have cash flow from real estate to replace your W2 income, I would say it would probably make sense to try and buy multiple SFHs or a multi family.

You can make money on the US government eventually devaluing the dollar because your debt is nominal, you can pocket the positive cash flow from the rental and take the cheap cash and invest it in a better market overseas.

I do like the Naples area as well, and 3.5 hours away is not ideal from Orlando but not impossible either thinking longer term, especially if I eventually hire a manager.
