The assumption that a leak directly above was causing lumber in the wall to rot seemed reasonable, but even without the leak, I don't think any of us would have expected a foundation issue like this. 

@David Goldstein I don't know of anything definitive, but it seems Providence is moving in the direction of other cities with heading toward restricting AirBnB to mainly owner-occupied properties and requiring registration/permits for AirBnBs. 

The upward trends may appear to be slowing, but home prices typically do not “decrease” without some sort of direct cause.

It's hard to know if the article got the projection right quantitatively, but Indy has not been a growth market and so directionally that part looks correct.Macro-level, the drivers to to growth markets are population shifts that are ocurring and a lot of people in northern states/cities have relocated to TX, FL, GA, NC, etc. 

I do agree that there are costs involved with running a business, but there are multiple reasons to place the property into a Land Trust rather than directly into the [Series] LLC.

We are renovating a small 800 sqft home and need an affordable heating / cooling  solution very soon. 

Reason is that it's a turnkey solution. 

Why deal with someone that doesn't own the home when they can go directly to the seller.

Beyond the monthly membership, how much are you spending on marketing monthly (direct mail, lists, etc.) through them and what kind of results have you had (ie number of deals, etc.).
