They don't pill at all, are rather crisp than silky and sleep cool which I think would be a benefit in FL.

Cool you have lots of sub2 opportunities. 

Cooling is better than no cooling, and for a newly refreshed house unless it's historic in some way, usually expected even if unnecessary.
