Both are hard working, blue collar towns that have a few bad neighborhoods, a whole swath of neighborhoods with potential, and a few middle-to-higher end neighborhoods around downtown and anchor institutions.  

Also, Michigan is a blue state, so I won't be surprised if they have tax liens vs tax deeds, in which case its a super long process to get the property and the owner can clear up the lien to get his rights back.

One area could be full of drug dealers and one street over will be well kept homes with blue collar workers.  

This would provide me a more exact blue print to use on analyzing the next property.
