If we are only talking one unit, you could of already rented it out, and look for a PM company more in line with your passive style of investing.

I think we can agree that there are many different investing styles out there to suit the nearly infinite number of goals and reasons an investor could have and leave it at that.

My "style" is to sort of come in quietly, let things settle down first.

I like the glamping idea on a large wooded area like you described and even the A frame style houses would like nice.  

Of course things can occasionally go wrong like a loud/drunk guest disturbing other guests but people understand the risks associated in apartment style buildings to a degree.Our very first STR was a small mansion on the beach that also had a detached 2/1 with a pool between the units. 

Now that is exactly what I was able to do.What I am trying to teach people for years is this.
