You're probably looking at a fire trap or electrical hazard.

I was born in Birmingham and still have roots there...mostly on the western side...Central Park, Fairfield, Midfield.  

Hi Shlomi Twinner,I know this was posted awhile ago, but maybe I can still help, or at least help someone who finds this post.The way to solve a mouse problem is to "seal up, trap up, and clean up".  

It had made it all the way to the toilet and gotten stuck in the P-trap with its head pointing towards the toilet bowl.

Prior to that I was in CT where I was born and raised.  

All traps should have had anti-freeze poured in (that's sinks, tubs, shower pans, toilet bowls).

I think anyone that has managed properties has stepped into this trap at some point.

I approved the expense - in my mind picturing broken pipes and the ceiling collapsing if not done timely.I just saw the description of work today on PM's website:  "New p-trap, sheetrock, caulking"So, did I get ripped off, & can I or should I challenge the PM on the expense?

I’d at least get a pest control company to set up some traps by the entrances.

One bad comp can have a big effect.Don't fall into the "gottadoadealitis" trap.
