I see what looks like either a formerly renovated property that now looks pretty rough; or a rehab that simply got stalled and never finished. 

What's the condition of the chinking--and has it succeed in keeping moisture out of the house or simply channeled moisture onto the logs? 

Two or more layers of shingles are not ideal, even if they use more nails than they should, lacking of adhesion to plain wood or the film layer before the shingles (water shield or decking protection felt) is gone.  

If I can make it work, it would save me a substantial amount of taxes.I would then plan on taking those funds (profit from the flip) and either (a) investing it in other self directed eligible assets (RE, LLC interests, etc.) or (b) transferring it back to a traditional brokerage firm and to simply invest it in equities.  

The main aspect that interests me (for the time being) is wholesaling.Yes, I understand that every new person claims they want to do wholesaling because of the supposed lack of monetary investment.

Any attempt at a prescriptive time line is simply not true as a rule. 

PS; I never got 1 single letter or call to tell me my account was past due or about to be canceled for lack of payment due to their screw up.
