I need to look into LLC's further now that I know they are a common vehicle for this type of arrangement.

Hello,  I was wondering if anyone had any insight on if expenses incurred in obtaining a vehicle for my real estate business would be tax deductible.Example:  I own property in Michigan and purchased a vehicle for $10,000 in Phoenix Arizona.

We are in close proximity to LA, and the high speed rail is set to open a new station in Bakersfield by 2023 which will start dramatically increasing the population of the surrounding areas.  

I also will have to purchase a vehicle around the same time.

For example, last month I made a request to paint stripes for parking because vehicles were parking in positions that did not allow optimal use of the parking lot. 

You have to show that you are in the business of doing flips before you can actually deduct the expenses.If you have more than one business - you can potentially deduct vehicle expenses(standard or actual method).If you are an employee, deducting vehicle expenses is currently suspended.

I ended up working on our school's electric vehicle because of his influence. 

If you are thinking of real estate investing as REITS or Mutual Funds, I would advise my friends to stay away because those assets do not have the critical tax benefits offered by direct ownership of real estate.If you are going to create vehicles whereby people can invest directly in real estate and get the full depreciation benefits of ownership, then you need to have an excellent track record. 

Sometimes those things align seamlessly, and others, it's a chaotic rollercoaster ride with no guardrail, tracks, or seatbelts..... yet I'm grateful for the vehicle RE offers.
