But the insane tax increases in Jackson County, Missouri (Kansas City) were deemed illegal:"Missouri’s State Tax Commission ordered Jackson County to roll back its 2023 property tax assessments, which raised homeowners property assessments by an average of 30% and more than 100% in some cases.

However, the property taxes increases in my area and now the rent no longer covers the mortgage.

With property taxes being a significant factor in Texas, how do you factor them into your sales strategy?

As of now, my general plan is to find a local realtor online who is experienced with real estate investing (and has investment properties of their own) to help me find a good local deal (goal is 20-25% return on ARV), get a hard money loan, aiming to rehab/repair/extend the property with my father (both have construction experience) within 4-5 months, and as for the loan exit strategy either sell or rent (depending on the deal). 

But looking back, I can’t help but wonder why my agent didn’t advocate to ensure the property was clear for a proper inspection.

Don’t just stop at “they say.”Also, write letters to your local papers and other media about the city’s refusal to delist properties.
