I understand needing a permit/inspection to protect the water supply or prevent a fire, but I have never understood why a replacement window or door or a new tub surround even with a new valve would need to be inspected....if they leak it only affects the homeowner who will then get it remedied.  

This however does not prevent you from asking for as much notice as possible.

I can see how this could ensure compliance with our local occupancy laws, prevent parking issues, and maybe even discourage large fish tanks (fish have heartbeats too!

In case a house does sink somewhat (not catastrophic) , does strengthening the building with pipes and cement help enough to prevent further sinking ?

We were thinking 1200 no utilities with a laundry included in basement and we pay for a 1 year street parking permit ( i dont want to clog up the driving since im living in this multi ).

I have clients that target buildings with issues that prevent buyers from getting financing and are only available to cash buyers.

My guess is the intent behind knowing this to prevent house prices from running up uncontrollably like they did in the late 2000s. 

From a building owner point of view, I wouldn't do it unless there were financial advantages, because I can envision a whole list of cons:court injunctions preventing you from emptying the building to do something with itlawsuits by the advocacy and others because of [insert issue here]insurance considerationsgeneral lack of oversight and lawlessnessETCIf I owned a building, the only way I would do this is if the building was junk anyway, some third party was leasing it from me, and I was legally absolved of any responsibility whatsoever in the operation.

I really want to prevent the property to go to auction because (1) I do not have the cash for it and (2) I think I will get outbid.
