However most of my tenants with pets do choose not to have the interiors of their apartments treated for rodents but we do put out bait stations around the perimeters of the properties and in the basements and sometimes in dropped ceilings and have never once had a pet become ill or poisoned.

I would stay with color schemes that are loud and visual.I feel it might work near a university, metro station, or close to an urban environment.
