If you have a local bee club you can contact them and you're likely to get a quick response from beekeepers. 

Also, @Robert White is correct- we have a pretty fantastic REI club up in BInghamton.

I have listened to countless hours of podcasts, scoured this forum for a few months even attended a few local REI club meetings and now its time for the rubber to meet the road.
