So we decided to transform our large storage closet into our new office space and turned what was the original office into a second bedroom to list on Airbnb.

There was no other storage in the house.The basement wasn't full height, so couldn't be finished.

Mobile home parks, self storage, medical centers, grocery-anchored strip malls, fulfillment warehouses, etc. -- there are a lot of good options for continuing to invest in commercial during a recession!

Hi Andrew, investing in a syndication or fund could be a good fit given your situation.Even if there is a crash, and people downsize, those people will have a need for self-storage, as evidenced by storage occupancy rates during past recessions.

Now this all could have gone a number of ways, but the way it did go is that I worked on getting the house repaired and her insurance paid for cleaning the worst of the smoke damage to her things, paid for storage, and paid for her to live elsewhere while the restoration was underway.
