I do believe that you can add the funding fee into the mortgage to finance it over the course of the loan, so you could almost substitute that additional monthly increase as PMI, so depending on the numbers, can end up back to where certain conventional loans become competitive...For any veteran reading this post, if you rate VA service-connected disability of 10% or more, the funding fee is waived, so that's a pretty big deal if the budget is starting to get tight…Hope my above information is accurate.
