I specifically told my agent that I wanted to find a property that I could easily find a roommate. 

Each unit has 2 bed 2 bath and I plan to live in one of the units with a roommate.

First, I held the property because I think its a good asset and i would lose money on the sales fees if I were to offload it right now, not the best position to be but since I bought at the low of the market I was taking a buy and hold strategy and since I had a roommate in my current house I was able to afford both payments reasonably comfortably.

Plus getting a room mate to pay half the mortgage will result in a lot more of your own income staying with you which you can build up for future investments.

I'm a looking at making a purchase in the Inglewood, CA area and hoping to supplement with rental income - either getting a roommate in a SFH or acquiring a multi unit property.

Since I will have roommates paying down my mortgage, is it somehow possible to factor this into the front-end DTI ratio?

Just keep your debt load low, and have roommates pay for your mortgage.

Hello Bigger Pockets community,My college roommate and I about to close on our first investment property!

Got himself a  girlfriend, went to a barbecue where someone hit up on his girlfriend; he went after the guy with a knife, broke his parole and ended up back in prison.It was at that point I learned he had also gotten himself a unapproved roommate who made HIS living selling drugs out of my house. 

A lot of these guys want roommate type setups from what I've seen.How are schools?
