The linoleum in both is chipping and stained in the bathroom. 

The carpet is showing its age and looks dirty and stained throughout.

If its a small area, Lowe's sells tinted paint to cover up the stains (the leak is gone, right?).

Because those are REAL hardwood floors you can sand down 1/4 inch to help level out.Ton of stain choices and if done right, they'll 95% look new.

Get a dark color which won't stain, or at least won't show it.I just got what appears to be amazing quality cheap vanity faucets from Amazon, branded Parlos. $35, popup drains and come with hoses!

If you can locate the noise and do not see any water stain then you may just have supply pipes vibrating.
