BTW, I have had tenants retail their own attorney, in the middle of last summer, and it sti did not go well for them even after requesting a trial in court.There are alot of misunderstandings passed on from one person the the next.

I think you misunderstand the idea of 'tax advantages'...1)the protection of assets...in theory an LLC does this, but that has nothing to do with taxes.

I don't want to sit around and buy nothing at all so I'm fine with flipping for now but I REALLY want to start building our portfolio and I feel like maybe I'm misunderstanding something with this strategy.Truly appreciate any thoughts or insight!

One thing you seem to be misunderstanding....when two people are on title (dad and his sister) the sister Can quit claim deed away Her Interest without dad's consent.  

I think there may exist a misunderstanding as to the responsibilities of being a licensed real estate broker or agent.A licensed real estate broker only has a FIDUCIARY duty to his CLIENT, i.e. the person he represents as an agent.

In other words you are paying for the DP money on that next house.Hi All, I am relatively new to real estate investing with a duplex, a vacation condo, and now recently a triplex that I just picked up, but I wanted to jump in on this thread, because it seems to be that folks are misunderstanding the challenges being brought up by refinancing. 

I think there was a misunderstanding as to what I was offering.  

Maybe I misunderstand but you will not be in business long if you funnel deals to yourself. 

Now, I'm sure a lot of it is perspective, miscommunication, misunderstanding, and differing goals and expectations for the area on all sides.
