Please take these comments as my own thoughts, just trying to think this out for myself, and not as somebody that has any degree of experience. 

I graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Marine Transportation and a 3rd mates unlimited tonnage USCG license.

Me and my brother are looking to start a real estate llc investment company...my bro is an accountant for an established real estate llc in Chicago involved in bigger deals 25+ unit bldg...I have a degree in construction management but currently work as a cnc programmer.. what advice can the bigger pocket community give us on starting and what kind of deals should we begin with...our strategy we're thinking of is buy and hold with the brrr method... single family, multi, or condos in the city or suburbs?

Some agents are just looking for a place to hang their license, others (especially young ones) are looking to learn from a more experienced person and everything in between.With few exceptions (@Joel Owens being one of them) the priorities (mostly in order) for all agents seems to be;1) Generate listings - Gives agent a degree of control and guarantees part of commission2) Sell Existing Listings - Double ending commission and more control of sale process.3) Get Deal in Contract - Again, at least part of commission and some control of process 4) Close the Deal - Many deals fall through after the initial acceptance of the price  and basic terms.

I am not super smart, I have no degree in real estate, I had no money to start with, the list goes on.  

But I was wondering if there are alternatives to getting an actual degree in interior design?

Going to school and earning a degree is a goal of mine as is real estate investing.

If you are not licensed this is NOT LEGAL...and is a violation of 475.42 which declares brokering without a license a 3rd degree felony.
