I'd suggest you hit the open houses in different price points and take note to appliance and fixture grades.The advantage of a drop in is in the design flow of counter space and it being seamless to the counter, spills are easily cleaned up, spill something on the side of a free standing stove means a mess and moving the stove out.

To Mark's point above about you deserving the commission because you spent the time/money to get licensed, the obvious question there would be whether you'd pay one of your other partner's extra just because they might have a degree in interior design (that helps the partnership in a design sense) or if they had a contractors' license or if they had spent money on a guru seminar and had more knowledge about flipping than the rest of the group?

If the bids aren't where you want to be, go back #4 and iterate on the design You could easily spend a few thousand dollars (or more) to get to the point where you'll have a plan and firm bids in place so you can decide if you want to move forward.
