I just read a biggerpockets blog post that one member used to cold-email "for-rent" postings on craigslist to find out whether some of those ma & pa landlords had any properties they wanted to get out of.

i think the blogs on bigger pocket are better than the threads. there's so much info in the threads, but scattered everywhere and hard to absorb so much info..or just look at the reviews on amazon for the books. i'd start with library fist though. i dont like to collect books unless i will refer to them.

There are a lot of great people on this site and a lot of good discussion including the blogs.
