Hotels dominate these things b/c they are markets that typical AirBnB hosts don't even know exist, meanwhile the hotels are building corporate B2B relationships (& not giving a cut of their action to AirBnB to boot).

I am also saddened by the fact that although not as bad, there have been quite a few stories like this in recent years involving squatters entering during a family vacation and obtaining some insignificant form of occupancy (water bill) that turns a petty B&E criminal charge into a long drawn out Civil case with the rightful owners always getting the short end of the stick, living in hotels while they try to legally evict criminals trashing their home and selling belongings.

I find considering such cases squatting is absurd because if the definition of a squatter is one that has "stayed"/established residency, if a family goes on vacation for a couple of days, only to come back finding a squatter living in their property (squatter moved a couple of personal belongings into the property), does the family now have to book a hotel elsewhere and wait through the whole legal eviction process to get back the property?

Just looking at the various hotel conference room flip seminars there I have seen 30-50 people attending them go to the back of the room and fork over $1,500-2,500.00.
