The downtown area draws many visitors, as does Lackland Air Force Base (out-of-town family members attending weekly basic training graduations) and the universities.

Join a local REI or Land Lord Association in your area and attend meetings and hang out here.

Hi Paul, First off, if you haven't already, I'd join your local REIA - we have a monthly main meeting and regular focus groups throughout each week, of which are free to attend. 

Another great thing is to attend different networking events so you can meet different players in the real estate space as well as other investors. 

Asheville's program has been in place for a long time though, and Fletcher hasn't copied it or adopted something similar yet, so perhaps it's unlikely that they will.I believe @Jordan Lockaby attended the meeting and can provide a summary catered to our concerns as investors. 

Driving for dollars,advertising on social media,attending local rei meetups,word of mouth.If you have some funds to invest you can use bandit signs,car advertisement such as magnets,check your local county for a tax list,propstream or even deal machine.

I just wanted to add that attending real estate meet ups might also be helpful.

Start growing your network, look on Facebook/BiggerPockets for different events, find a mentor doing what you want to do, and get to know the local lenders/brokers.Try to attend your local REI networking groups and meetups.
