How can I become a Real Estate Entrepreneur

Question

Since being a kid, I had loved the idea of owning a house, estate, commercial buildings....etc

Now,  I have discovered that this all relates to Real Estate and I am passionate about it.

I want to be an entrepreneur in Real Estate, I want to be a guru at investing but I need help, the right education.

Hi @Christopher Derrick Jr,

I was in a similar place as you were approx 5 years ago. Best advice I will give you is begin by understanding your personal finances, begin researching the expenses that go into running a rental, areas where you want to focus on/invest in, and don't hesitate to reach out to others who have done what you are about to. There are many who have done through what you are about to embark on.

This also led me to grow my love to real estate and eventually led me to become a realtor where I help many buyers and sellers find their personal homes but also investment properties.

@Christopher Derrick Jr welcome to BP! Networking is essential. Join a local REI or Land Lord Association in your area and attend meetings and hang out here. This is a team sport if you want to be successful, and money is what makes this business work. While you are laying the foundation for your education look into how much money you have and can save on your own, and how much might be available from lenders etc. Always line up money and credit when you don't need it. I think you are already on the right path my friend!  Let your curiosity about real estate guide you by listening to podcasts, reading books and educating yourself about the many different genres of real estate!  If you already have a well paying W2 income, then you could become a real estate entrepreneur on the side as you learn, save and build your portfolio.

But, if you are looking for the fastest way to learn all about real estate, then you should dive in to the courses offered by your state to become a licensed real estate agent! There is no better way to learn about an industry than from the inside out.  Embrace your passions and feed of your curiosity to discover the niche in real estate that really calls to you!

All it takes is consistent effort and you will get to wherever you want to be in life!  Good Luck on your journey!

You've come to the right place Christopher. Spend the next 3-6 months here on the forums, reading the blogs, and listing to the BP podcasts. You will start to get a better understanding of how real estate investing works, and you'll start to hone in on a strategy that you would like to pursue.

It will be overwhelming at first but you'll get there. Just be a sponge. And come back to post on the forums any time you have any specific questions.
