My primary residence is covered under our homeowners policy but we opted for the extra coverage through Dominion (or whatever they are now) for the upgraded sidewalk and landscaping replacement coverage should we ever have to dig.

The problem is that my policy wasn't in effect the day the problem was discovered (definitely my fault on not having an insurance early enough!).

You should provide a Lenders Title Insurance policy, a note secured by a recorded mortgage or deed of trust, and add them as Lenders on your property insurance policy
