If the city can eliminate an STR that has operated legally for 23 years, it certainly can change the rules to further restrict/limit STRs.

Take pics many videos, then call city code enforcement for inspection.Also, look into your state & local laws about escrowing rent for lack of maintenance and follow the rules EXACTLY.

I think in California you may have some rules around how to compensate people for loss of space but I don't know.
