I moved to Abilene about 3 years ago for the Air Force, and started investing about one year ago with a duplex near the base, then another property w/ a garage apartment near a college.

There are actually many factors the would be looked at to determine the payoff on such a note but you should be able to get much more than the 1.5 previously discussed if you do things right.

Just a quickie related to my previous post.Are there any benefits to having a formal offer in writing, even if the seller verbally told the realtor our intended bid was unacceptable?

If you are looking at this as a long term business I would recommend taking a law of contracts class at your local community college.

Sorry, but if you really check, the previous poster is correct- this will not pass the fraud sniff test.If you put someone on an account for the express purpose of reporting on a credit report, report them as an AU, and they are not (under the old scenaio, if you added your brother, even if he didn't have a card, he was legally authorized to use the account) you are walking a thin line.The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) specifies what can and cannot be listed in a consumer credit report.

To me the answer would depend on how easy it is for you to get financing for REI (assuming you want to get into it) and how much it will cost you to go to university/college.By both going to college and REIing with your 200k you will have a balanced portfolio.
