@David HillIt is my understanding since you currently do not own the debt you cannot pull credit on them - but the current lien holder could - ask them to confirm status of the first.

If you don't understand the presence of inflation today, look back to the Obama era and executive actions taken on how inflation is commutated in the US, the rules were changed basically making any "official" rate a worthless made-up fantasy number as all the factual factors that comprise of inflation index were removed, such as food.
