Is it normal to ask for evidence (pictures, video, etc) of what needs to be repaired?

@Johnny Awwad : I live a little further south than you, but there are a ton of them in the area, and as @Tj Hines says, almost all of them are on meetup.com.My favorites are:SF Bay Area Real Estate Investing Club - this is a very casual meetup.

Most can do their work through email, document sharing, client calls and skype/video if you want face to face communications.   

If you're just keeping your money in a traditional bank account then it's losing value but if you invest in the stock market theres always a chance it goes down and even if you do make money you might have to pay short term capital gains taxes which is nasty.What do you guy think about this video on the safest investments for keeping your cash while you're saving for a downpayment?
